Flanagan announces 4 incoming recruits for 2015-16

Syracuse signed four players to national letters of intent for the 2015-16 season, head coach Paul Flanagan announced Monday via an SU Athletics press release.

Lindsay Eastwood, Allie Munroe, Karleigh Scully, and Madison Welch will join the Orange next season.

Eastwood, from Ontario, Canada and Munroe, from Nova Scotia, are defenders with a history of scoring. Last season, Eastwood scored a Provincial Women’s Hockey League record 67 goals and is on pace to become a top-five scoring defender in PWHL history. Munroe came into this season with 53 career points for the New Hampton School in New Hampshire.

Scully, a forward from Quebec, is coming off back-to-back Athlete of the Year awards at the Canadian International Hockey Academy.

Welch, a goalie from East Amhert, N.Y., has a career record of 215-55-21 while saving 94 percent of shots. Her sister, Kaelsey, played for College Hockey America rival Mercyhurst from 2009-13.
