La Salle College High School linebacker Zaire Franklin has verbally committed to Syracuse, according to Scout.com.

The 6-foot, 215-pound three-star recruit from Wyndmoor, Pa., is the third verbal commit in the class of 2014, joining quarterback A.J. Long and local running back Naesean Howard.

He spurned offers from Arizona, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Temple among others to join the Orange, according to Scout.com.
