Video: The Black Lounge kicks off Black History Month at SU

Music artist and SU freshman Shanice Manning, or Shan.X, performed original songs.

Last Saturday, SU’s Black History Month celebration opened with The Black Lounge, an evening of music and dance performances, spoken word and recognition of influential community leaders. The Student African-American Society, Caribbean Student Association, Black Graduate Student Association and other organizations co-planned the event. Young Picossos Steel Percussion, Black Reign Step Team, Joel W. Francois, Shan.X, DJ Maestro and Jenea Leah performed.
