Emily Hawryschuk, Sam Swart named to U.S. Women’s Box Lacrosse National Team

Emily Hawryschuk (No. 51) and Sam Swart (No. 3) were among 23 players named to the inaugural U.S. Women's Box Lacrosse National Team. Hawryschuk is SU’s all-time leading scorer while Swart notched 207 points throughout her career.

Former Syracuse women’s lacrosse players Emily Hawryschuk and Sam Swart have been named to the inaugural U.S. Women’s Box Lacrosse National Team. Alongside 21 other players, Hawryschuk and Swart will represent the United States at the World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, New York, from Sept. 20-29.

Throughout her six-year career at SU from 2017 to 2022, Hawryschuk notched 311 goals, the most in program history. Following her prolific career, Hawryschuk has spent significant time trying to grow the game of lacrosse. Swart starred alongside Hawryschuk from 2018 to 2022, finishing her career with 207 points.

This is the first time World Lacrosse has hosted a Women’s Box World Championship, and nine other nations are competing in the tournament.
