Celebrate Día de los Muertos or learn about cannabis at this week’s 5 events

Besides celebrations, informational events will be happening all week on campus. Come down to the Barnes Center at the Arch for ‘Putting it Bluntly (Cannabis 101)’ to learn about the legality, safety and effects of cannabis.

Haunted History Tours
Walk around downtown Auburn with the Haunted History Tour on the Seward House Museum grounds. See spooky sights and listen to creepy Victorian tales, Seward family lore, true crime stories and more. The walking tours will run at 6 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 30. Adult tickets are $17.85 and are available online.

Orange After Dark: Day of the Dead
Celebrate Día de los Muertos with the Mexican Student Association, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, and Orange After Dark in the Schine Underground. Learn about the Day of the Dead and honor dead relatives by creating traditional ofrendas. The celebration will take place on Nov. 1 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Underground in Schine Student Center. A valid Syracuse University ID is required for entry.

Putting it Bluntly (Cannabis 101)
Learn all about marijuana at Cannabis 101. The Barnes Center at the Arch will present an introduction to the legality, safety and effects of cannabis. The presentation includes a discussion of different modes of consumption, dosage, potency and onset and will take place Nov. 2 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Strange Terrain
The Urban Video Project presents the Institute of Queer Ecology (IQECO), a media arts collection with Jack Halberstam. IQECO will explore queerness in today’s landscape. The event will take place at the Everson Museum of Art on Nov. 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.



Warren Miller Ski Film Tour
Head to the Palace Theater for the Warren Miller Ski Film Tour Event. From Aspen to Park City, dive into a visual winter wonderland and celebrate 75 seasons of skiing with Warren Miller’s “ALL TIME.” The event will take place on Nov. 2 from 7:30 to 9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $24.30 online.
