Junior uses neutral colors, classic pieces in her minimalistic style

Taylyn Washington-Harmon | Staff Writer

Alexa Roberts said she is inspired by runway looks from Céline, Chromat and Alexander Wang.

Alexa Roberts brings minimalist chic to the classroom with an army-inspired color palette. According to her style rules, less is better.

The junior writing and English and textual studies major is sporting H&M olive green skinny pants, a Tobi cross-over top, classic green Adidas Stan Smiths and a cozy aviator-style bomber jacket from Macy’s. A fan of runway brands Céline, Chromat and Alexander Wang, Roberts’ style philosophy revolves around neutral tones in classic cuts and staple pieces plus a pop of color. After experimenting a lot with fashion in high school, she feels as if she just found her true sense of style.

If you give Roberts 15 minutes to get ready, her go-to regimen is a quick swipe of foundation and mascara, and then rushing out the door in ripped jeans, classic sneakers, a plain tee and a structured jacket.

Roberts can usually be found scoping Zara, Forever 21 and H&M for pieces, while doing most of her online shopping at Missguided and Boohoo. For style inspiration, she looks to bloggers like Aimee Song and Christina Caradona.
