Video Editor | Fall 2014-Spring 2015; Multimedia Director | Fall 2015

I wish I had something deep to say. When I think of The Daily Orange I don’t think of one individual or one particular moment. I feel it. I feel the late nights. I feel the laughter. I feel the frustration and conviction to produce something meaningful. I’m not going to say that The D.O. is home for me. I’m still not really sure if I ever quite fit in, even to this day. But I am thankful for the memories and friendships I’ll leave with because of it. The D.O. pushed me to be better, and I hope I left it a little better of a place.

Luke Rafferty: I’m writing this because of you. I interviewed for the video editor position thinking I would be your assistant, not the new you. You really couldn’t give me a heads up?

Frankie: I loved working with you all those late nights. Every memory I have of you in the house is of laughter, cursing, or music. I don’t know if you’ve realized it yet, but you are extraordinary.

Renee: You are my favorite. I will never not give you a hug when I see you. Nothing more needs to be said.

Jackie: When you smile the world goes round. I miss you every time I walk into the house and you’re not there.

Tony: We never really had a full conversation about anything other then boxing, but I will remember you. Words cannot describe my enjoyment seeing you walk into head editor meetings hungover and late, while wearing an armadillo sweatshirt, on Friday mornings. Thank you for making a scribble of me!

Jesse: Thank you for always saying hi to me when I first started working at The D.O. I will never forget you giving me random hugs, or having slight disagreements during web meetings. I’ll see you at Chucks.

Annie: You’re dope.

Jacob: I felt really special when you called me gorgeous instead of by my first name. I later realized I wasn’t the only female you called that, which in all honesty did make me a little salty. Thank you for always coming to me with ideas, and never saying no to any of mine. Always seeing a smile on your face made the nights easier.

Chase: I didn’t even work with you while you were in house but I might as well have. Every conversation I have ever had with you has left me inspired. You are amazing.

Other Chase: Thank you for silently serenading me. I deeply enjoyed every moment.

Every other staff member I have worked with: Thanks for the memories.

Opinion: Hurricane Helene foreshadows our climate's future

It’s clear that climate change impacts numerous communities in a variety of severe, unequal ways. To ensure its effects don’t continue to persist, we must listen to the experts. We can no longer ignore them, especially when the evidence is right in front of us. Read more »
