Brad Anderson was a cartoonist for what was then called the "Syracuse Daily Orange" in the late 1940s.

Syracuse University alumnus Brad Anderson, the mastermind behind popular cartoon “Marmaduke,” passed away on Aug. 30 at the age of 91.

Anderson was a cartoonist for what was then called the “Syracuse Daily Orange” in the late 1940s and had his own comic, “Here’s Looking at You.”

SU honored Anderson in 2010 alongside alumni Greg Walker and Robb Armstrongin “The Original Art of the Funny Papers,” an exhibit of syndicated cartoons by the three cartoonists, according a Syracuse.com article.
