Syracuse trades oranges for new Twitter handle
Stanford University gave up its @SUathletics Twitter handle to Syracuse in exchange for a bowl of oranges, Stanford announced in a press release Monday.
The oranges will be used to fill the Cardinal’s 2011 Orange Bowl trophy, according to the release.
SU Athletics confirmed the trade in a tweet.

Stanford’s followers were automatically switched to @GoStanford, while Syracuse athletics takes on the new Twitter handle @SUAthletics and keeps its original, @Cuse, active.
At time time of publication, @Cuse has 29,605 followers and @SUAthletics has 368.
It is believed to be the first such move in the history of Twitter, which was created in March 2006.
