Student harassed, physically attacked outside Haven Hall Thursday afternoon

A male Syracuse University student was harassed and physically attacked in front of Haven Hall, near the intersection of Marshall Street and Comstock Avenue, Thursday afternoon.

The student received minor injuries when two male suspects sprayed him with pepper spray, hit him in the chest area and forced him to the ground. The victim reported that he was walking by the two suspects when they began to attack him, according to a Department of Public Safety email sent to all students.

DPS is asking for assistance from anyone who may have been in the area at the time in identifying suspects.

The suspects are described as two black males, both about 5 feet 10 inches, in their early 20’s dressed in black hoodie sweatshirts and baggy jeans. One of the two suspects was described as being of medium build, and the other as “stocky,” according to the email.

The two suspects were last seen heading north on Walnut Ave., according to the email.
